Yankees 5, Red Sox 6: Losing streak stretches to four

The Yankees lost their fourth straight game, dropping them even further back in the playoff race. New York led for most of the day, as they received a serviceable start from Bryan Mitchell and were able to hit around David Price, but the bullpen couldn’t hold on as the Yankees fell 6-5.

Mitchell did very well to work around some bad luck in the second. Mookie Betts lofted a pop fly that fell between Didi Gregorius and Brett Gardner to lead off, and Hanley Ramirez followed with an infield single up the third base line. Mitchell responded by retiring the next three batters to sneak out unscathed.
