TAMPA -- The Yankees' job openings at second and third base came up twice Tuesday during new manager Aaron Boone's first news conference of the spring.
On reporting day for pitchers and catchers, Boone threw it out there that it's a "real possibility" that his club will open the season with two rookie starters, Miguel Andujar at third and Gleyber Torres at second. Utility infielder Ronald Torreyes, who did well filling in as the starter for a month last season at both short and second, also is in the mix, as is second-year utility infielder Tyler Wade.
