The Yankees’ offense struggled, putting up one run against Eduardo Rodriguez who came into the game sporting an ERA over eight. Surprise?
This game was a lot like a lot of Yankees’ games we’ve seen this season. The starting pitcher, in this case CC Sabathia, battled for a while before the opposing team eventually tagged him. The offense had no answer and the Yankees lost. In this case, it was a 5-2 loss to the Red Sox.
Boston opened the scoring in the top of the third. Bryce Bentz reached on a Didi Gregorius throwing error to start the inning.
