Yankee voices silent on PEDs during A-Rod's 3,000th hit

YES Network's Michael Kay and Paul O’Neill didn’t hesitate to hail Alex Rodriguez’s 3,000th hit, a homer to right-center Friday night. But the two announcers failed to put the tainted accomplishment into perspective, neither one noting A-Rod’s history of steroid use or his year-long suspension last season for PEDs.

“High fly ball, deep right, Martinez back, track, wall, see ya!” bellowed Kay. “He did it in style, he joins the 3,000 hit club with a home run.”

Kay then went on to highlight the baseball significance of hit No. 3,000.

“Eighteen thousand men have played major league baseball,” said Kay.
