Yankee Fans May Be Looking Forward, but Jeter Is Still a Draw

A game to honor the revered Yankee Derek Jeter was always sure to be a big one at the Stadium. But with the Yanks owning a best-in-baseball 21-10 record, and boasting new stars like Aaron Judge, it may be that fans are starting to look forward instead of back.

Ticket IQ, which tracks secondary ticket sales, says that Sunday’s game, at which Jeter’s number will be retired, currently rates as the second hottest game of the season, after opening day. But enthusiasm for the game seems to be waning somewhat. The average asking price is $208, down from $451 six weeks ago.
