The only time Darren Fenster becomes a "crazed fan," he says, is when the Red Sox are in the postseason.
That's probably not something a guy from Middletown who was once a Yankees fan ever thought he would say, but it's quite understandable.
Fenster, who was an All-American shortstop and Big East Player of the Year at Rutgers before spending several seasons on former coach Fred Hill's staff, just finished his seventh season with the Red Sox and his fifth as a minor league manager in their system. The Rutgers Hall of Famer expects to be at Fenway Park this week for the first two games of the World Series against the Dodgers.
