Let’s start here: The Yankees haven’t let on that they would consider pushing Miguel Andujar off third base for next season. He’s just 23 years old. And Yankees manager Aaron Boone has said Andujar has been better defensively than much of the club expected.
That said, it’s been ugly for the Dominican Republic native. While he makes just about the plays he should on routine grounders, he has statuesque range. He also rarely makes a tough play and struggles throwing to first base, seemingly holding the ball a tick too long before rushing it over to first base.
