The National Baseball Hall of Fame announced on Monday the 10 candidates for induction by the Today's Game Era Committee as part of the Class of 2019.
Two Yankees are on the list: former owner George Steinbrenner and former Yankees manager Lou Piniella (yes, he also played outfield for the Yankees but he is being considered based only on his work as a skipper).
Should Steinbrenner be elected, he would most likely go in with former Yankees closer Mariano Rivera, who appears on the regular ballot for the first time in 2019.
