BOSTON -- It made absolutely no sense.
Then, well, maybe it did.
Matt Holliday confused just about everyone at Fenway Park with a seemingly boneheaded baserunning decision in the Yankees' 4-1 win in 16 innings over the Red Sox on Saturday.
In the 11th inning, Holliday was on first base. Jacoby Ellsbury ripped a grounder to first baseman Mitch Moreland. His throw beat Holliday to second in plenty of time, but Holliday turned back around and slid feet first into first base -- despite the force out at second.
