TAMPA — The best way for a big league baseball team to bond is by dousing each other with champagne and beer after winning the World Series.
Players tend to like one another a lot more when fitted for World Series rings and cashing share checks.
Yet, bonding activities are popular in professional sports these days and the Yankees went through a session Tuesday, when they didn’t run, throw or hit at George M. Steinbrenner Field on the eve of opening the exhibition season by hosting the Tigers.
“Today was fun, we laughed a lot,’’ Alex Rodriguez said following the session chaired by Steve Shenbaum of Game On Nation.
