Here’s me, the Yankee fan, getting it.
I understand the impetus for a rebuild. The Yankees haven’t had a top ten farm system since the days when Ruben Rivera was still a supposed gazelle. Theoretically, following Sunday morning’s wheel-and-deal, they’re top five, now. The transformation has been rapid and the ascendance has earned a never-ending round of applause from me.
But—and once again, I do know the answer to this—but why did such a rebuild have to come at the expense of Andrew Miller and his whiparound devastation?
