Who’s Jabari Blash, the outfielder Yankees just traded for?

On Tuesday, The Yankees gave up swingman pitcher Bryan Mitchell and in return got to clean their hands of the $13 million that remained on Chase Headley’s contract.

Oh, and they acquired outfielder Jabari Blash.

Blash is coming from San Diego to The Bronx — rather, the Yankees’ organization at least. Blash has yo-yoed from the minors to the majors the last two seasons and has yet to make an impact at the highest level. In 99 career games, he has a .200 batting average with eight home runs and 21 RBIs.

The 28-year-old from the Virgin Islands has been a slow-rising prospect since getting selected by the Mariners in the eighth round of the 2010 draft, then going to A’s in the 2015 Rule 5 draft, then quickly being shipped to San Diego.
