NEW YORK — The big news of the Yankees’ season-ending news conference was broken by media relations director Jason Zillo as manager Aaron Boone’s Q & A was wrapping up after 36 minutes.
Three days after the Yankees' season ended, a Yankee Stadium clubhouse-level conference room was packed to hear Boone and GM Brian Cashman take turns recapping a 100-win season that included a win over the Oakland Athletics in the American League Wild Card Game and then a best-of-five Division Series loss to the Boston Red Sox in four games.
When Boone finished up an answer to a question about rookie third base Miguel Andujar, Zillo jumped in from a nearby podium.
