What Yankees learned from Aaron Judge getting x-rays on his thumb

NEW YORK -- Yankees right fielder Aaron Judge's trip to the ballpark on Saturday began with a trip to the x-rays room.

The results brought expected but still relieving news.

His sore left thumb isn't broken or dislocated.

And so, a day after Judge jammed his thumb, he was back in the Yankees' lineup hitting second for the middle game of this weekend's Subway Series.

"He had X-rays this afternoon," Yankees manager Aaron Judge said in his pre-game presser. "Came back clean. A little more peace of mind."

Judge hurt himself in the first inning of Friday night's 4-1 win over the Mets sliding into second base on a doubleplay groundball hit by Greg Bird, but he played all nine innings.
