NEW YORK -- Yankees No. 1 prospect Gleyber Torres thought he was being punished Saturday when he was pulled out of Scranton/Wilkes-Barre's game after six innings.
An inning earlier, Torres grounded out to the pitcher with a runner on third, so he was thinking maybe he "didn't hustle to first base."
Torres was in the dark until a few minutes after his club lost 6-5 to Toledo at PNC Field in Moosic, Pa.
The mystery was divulged when RailRiders manager Bobby Mitchell called Torres into his office and blurted out, "You're going to the big leagues.
