What Luis Severino's disabled list stint means for Yankees

NEW YORK — Another injury to another big star is the last thing this last-place Yankees team needed, but that's exactly what they got Friday night in a punchless 7-1 loss at the hands of the Chicago White Sox.

Right-handed starter Luis Severino is going on the 15-day disabled list with a mild right triceps strain, an injury that will keep him from picking up a baseball for five to seven days, the team announced. Severino now becomes the latest casualty on this Yankees roster this season, joining designated hitter Alex Rodriguez, lefty starter CC Sabathia, and center fielder Jacoby Ellsbury to all miss significant periods of time with various injuries.
