A day after their historic six hours and five-minute unscheduled doubleheader with the Chicago Cubs, the New York Yankees were bound to have some sluggish players both on offense and on the mound. Manager Joe Girardi announced prior to Monday’s game that Jonathan Holder, Chasen Shreve and Adam Warren would all be unavailable for either of the games in Cincinnati.
With that in mind, the New York Yankees decided to call up a familiar face, right-handed hurler Chad Green, who was brought in along with Luis Cessa in a trade with the Detroit Tigers for Justin Wilson.
