The Yankees’ banged up pitching staff got some good news Friday. Young righty Luis Gil posted to his Instagram that he had his first bullpen session after undergoing Tommy John surgery last year.

Gil underwent the surgery almost a year ago, so his rehab appears to be on track. He burst on the Yankees scene and became a fan favorite in 2021, when he posted a 3.07 ERA and 11.7 strikeouts per nine innings (K/9) in six starts.
