NEW YORK -- As a herd of reporters surrounded his locker, Yankees pitcher Domingo German joked around with catcher Gary Sanchez.

For the new guy, he seemed surprisingly at ease.

"You walk in here, you see some of my ex-teammates here, you're super happy," German said through an interpreter. "Super excited for the opportunity to be here. I didn't think I would be here this fast."

German, who was called up from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre on Saturday night following the Yankees' 16-3 win over the Orioles, is expected to see his first major league action in relief of starting pitcher Chad Green on Sunday.
