TAMPA -- As manager Joe Girardi would say, it's not what you want.
The Yankees have gone through almost all of spring training watching an uninspiring five-man battle for the final two spots in the starting rotation. Nobody out of Luis Severino, Bryan Mitchell, Luis Cessa, Chad Green or Adam Warren has separated himself. It's gotten so bad, in fact, the team has had to audition 24-year-old Jordan Montgomery, who's not even on the 40-man roster.
