TORONTO -- It already seemed over. Then the Yankees decided to flex.
Four solo homers in the eighth inning put the ribbon atop a 7-0 win for the Yankees over the Blue Jays at the Rogers Centre on Saturday.
Brett Gardner, Matt Holliday, Starlin Castro and Didi Gregorius each rocked pitches from reliever Jason Grilli over the wall to extend a 3-0 lead. They were the most homers given up by a reliever in Blue Jays' history.
They supported a sterling afternoon from rookie Jordan Montgomery. The tall lefty fooled Toronto's potent lineup for six scoreless innings, striking out five while allowing three walks and three hits.
