NEW YORK -- Neil Walker grabbed a bat and said that he thought about keeping his swing short, then he delivered a pinch-hit walk-off home run in the ninth inning that lifted the Yankees to their ninth win in 11 games, a 5-4 victory over the White Sox on Tuesday evening at Yankee Stadium.
Sent to the plate in place of Ronald Torreyes, Walker jumped on the first pitch from Dylan Covey, coming through after Aaron Hicks tied the game with his 22nd home run, a two-run shot to right field off Juan Minaya in the eighth inning.
