Useless on-site broadcasts a bad idea that won’t go away

Among the fascinating things about our screwy world is that bad ideas stand as good a shot of sticking as good ones.

That’s why “affordable housing” is built for those who can’t afford housing, off weeks have become “bye weeks” and STOP signs are placed so far from the intersection you can’t see in either direction.

For years, and at added expense, TV moves its pregame, halftime and postgame studio shows to the sites of NBA and NFL playoff and championship games. It’s one of those “Look what we can do!” things, like cutting to a sideline reporter for word that the player who just left with an ankle injury is having his ankle examined.
