Spring training hasn’t even gotten fully underway and the Yankees are already dealing with a couple of injuries. The biggest of which is the fact that Tyler Austin has a broken navicular bone in his foot and will miss a minimum of six weeks.
Austin’s injury occurred when he fouled a ball off his foot in batting practice a few days ago. He is currently in a boot and will remain in one for three weeks, and will be held out of baseball activities for at least six weeks.
This puts him out of contention for a spot on the Opening Day roster.
