Sad news to pass along. Longtime baseball executive Kevin Towers passed away today following a battle with cancer. He was only 56. Towers served as Padres GM from 1995-2009 and Diamondbacks GM from 2010-14. In between GM stints, he spend a season with the Yankees as a special assignment scout. Towers and Brian Cashman were said to be very close. By all accounts, Towers was a wonderful person and beloved within the game. Our condolences go out to his family and friends.
Here’s an open thread for the evening. The Knicks and Nets are playing each other, and both the Islanders and Devils are in action now that the NHL All-Star break is over.
