Mariano Rivera received a congratulatory tweet from President Trump on Tuesday night for becoming the first MLB player in history to be unanimously voted into the Baseball Hall of Fame.
The former Yankees closer is currently serving as a co-chair of Trump’s Council on Sports, Fitness & Nutrition and has visited the White House at least once in the past to attend an opioid and drug abuse session.
“Congratulations to Mariano Rivera on unanimously being elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame!” Trump tweeted. “Not only a great player but a great person.
