Yankees All-Star second baseman Gleyber Torres, out since July 4 because of a strained right hip, was activated from the disabled list ahead of Wednesday's series finale against the Rays at Tampa Bay. He is in the starting lineup, batting fifth and playing second base.
The Yankees also recalled right-hander Luis Cessa, Wednesday's starting pitcher, from Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre and optioned infielder Tyler Wade to the same club.
