If Aaron Hicks gives the Yankees what Didi Gregorius and Nathan Eovaldi provided in their initial seasons, the club should credit Torii Hunter with an assist.
Like Gregorius and Eovaldi did, Hicks arrives in The Bronx with high-end tools and a suspect big league track record. Gregorius was 24 when acquired from the Diamondbacks last December. Eovaldi was the same age when swapped with Garrett Jones from the Marlins for David Phelps and Martin Prado in the same month.
Gregorius was an athletic shortstop with questions about his bat.
