Top Yankees prospect Deivi Garcia shows progress in latest start

Deivi Garcia seems to be getting used to Triple-A competition, and the results are slowly getting more impressive.

After starting his time in Scranton with a series of rough outings, Garcia recovered Tuesday night with a stronger performance against Charlotte. The Yankees’ top prospect threw four innings and gave up two runs on four hits, despite a rain delay that forced him to sit for roughly 40 minutes.

Garcia also struck out Luis Robert, the highly touted outfielder in the White Sox organization who’s ranked by MLB Pipeline as the fifth-best prospect in baseball. In a video of the at-bat, Garcia flashes a fastball that touches 95 mph before punching Robert out on a slider.
