TAMPA, Fla. -- It seemed as if every eye at George M. Steinbrenner Field was focused on the baseball, except for the two eyes of the man who hit it.
But had Aaron Judge bothered to watch the flight of the ball, he would have seen what had the crowd, and even some of his own teammates, ooh-ing, aah-ing and eventually, cheering.
Judge, the 6-foot-7, 275-pound outfield prospect, took a fat pitch from coach Tony Pena and turned it into a dot against the sky, the ball eventually coming to land over and beyond the 40-foot high scoreboard in deep left-center field.
