We continue to chug along through November here, with yesterday bringing more coaching news. The Yankees announced they’d hired Brad Ausmus as their new bench coach, filing the role vacated by Carlos Mendoza. Ausmus had stints as Tigers and Angels manager, and was Oakland’s bench coach last year. Elsewhere, the Padres announced Mike Shildt as their next manager. Shildt earned 2019 NL manager of the year honors, and went 252-199 overall as the skipper of the Cardinals.
This morning, Peter will look at one of the more intriguing free agents newly on the market, Brandon Woodruff, with the right-hander unlikely to pitch until 2025.
