The weekend is nearly over, and the days are started to blend together without Yankees baseball to mark them. The action in the playoffs seems to be spiking — we’ve got series guaranteed to go at least four games deep everywhere except in Houston, where it’s likely that the White Sox get swept. That’s neat and all, but the only thing less appealing than getting through an October without the Yankees is getting through an October where the AL has to send one of the Red Sox, Rays or Astros to the Fall Classic.
