SAN DIEGO — The Yankees need to do something at least to try to improve their starting rotation.
Whomever they bring in can't be as bad as right-hander Nathan Eovaldi.
Baseball's a funny game: Eovaldi looked like he was on his way to becoming a star in April and May when he was mixing a fastball that touches 100 mph with a nasty splitter to win six ballgames, which still leads the club.
Ever since, he's been terrible.
Eovaldi was lit up again Friday night and the Yankees came up 7-6 losers to the San Diego Padres in the opener of an interleague series at Petco Park.
