CINCINNATI — Fatigue from Sunday night’s trek into Monday morning played a part in manager Joe Girardi not starting right fielder Aaron Judge against former Yankee pitching prospect Rookie Davis and the Reds on Monday at Great American Ball Park.
Also playing a part are Judge’s knees that he smothers in ice after every game.
“Long games and Judge ran into a wall and fell into the stands,’’ Girardi said of Judge going into the Fenway Park seats late last month to make a catch and banging his legs. “Part of [the ice] is the Boston fall so we have had to deal with that.
