Murderers Row 2.0 looks incredible on a lineup card, but a quadruple-A offense can be just as dangerous.
Despite a slew of injuries and a short turnaround — following Friday night’s chaotic 14-inning loss — that forced Aaron Boone to start a majority of bench players and minor leaguers, the Yankees notched their second-highest scoring output of the young season, and ended their two-game slide to the Orioles with an 8-3 win Saturday afternoon at Yankee Stadium.
Though the Yankees failed to homer for just the second game this season — the back-end of the lineup featured Tyler Austin, Miguel Andujar, Jace Peterson, Austin Romine and Ronald Torreyes — seven players recorded a hit and every starter reached base, with Giancarlo Stanton and Didi Gregorius each drawing two walks.
