There’s no limit to where Severino can take the Yankees

Luis Severino has no innings limit. That’s a really good thing because the Yankees may go as far as the rookie can take them in the postseason.

Severino came up the winner in the Yankees’ 5-2 victory over the Rays Friday night at Yankee Stadium, allowing only one run over 6 ¹/u2083 innings, the longest out of his six career starts.

This marked the third straight game of six-plus innings pitched and one run or fewer for the 21-year-old right-hander.

The last Yankee to accomplish such a feat at the age of 21 or younger was Waite Hoyte in 1921, according to researcher Katie Sharp.
