The newest obstacle for working-out Yankees: a huge hill

TAMPA — Mount Krause is the newest twist to the Yankees’ spring training program.

Named after second-year director of strength and conditioning Matt Krause, the 10-foot incline built in left field of Field 3 at George M. Steinbrenner Field and covered with grass, was designed to build strength in the legs and lower body.

“You can do anything you want. You can work your legs and lower back without putting weights on and doing the squats and all that stuff,’’ said catcher Brian McCann, who ran up the hill Saturday and watched several pitchers tackle the hill Sunday.
