The market for Didi Gregorius continues to take shape as the MLB Winter Meetings get under way in San Diego.
MLB Network’s Jon Heyman reported Monday on Twitter that the free-agent Yankees shortstop “seems likely” to receive $14 million to $15 million on a multiyear deal, “which may price out (the) Reds, who like him but are covered there with (Freddy) Galvis, in case. Phillies, others thought to be in.”
The Phillies, who didn’t tender contracts to infielders Cesar Hernandez and Maikel Franco, seem to be the most logical fit for Gregorius, especially with former Yankees skipper Joe Girardi as their new manager.
