As soon as Eric Capstick appeared in an upper deck of Yankee Stadium, camera on his shoulder, the fans began clamoring as if Derek Jeter had suddenly returned from retirement.
“Here we go, camera on,” Mr. Capstick yelled, and the fans erupted in cheers and waves as their images came into view live on the huge screen behind center field (it’s 60 feet high and 100 feet wide).
He moved into a wide shot, panning across the crowd, and then, as abruptly as he had materialized, he high-fived a little girl eating Cracker Jack and was off to the next spot in the stadium for another helping of fan fever.
