In a parallel universe, the Chicago Cubs aspire to become the Boston Red Sox, from enticing their former General Manager in Theo Epstein, to remodeling a relic of a ball yard the Red Sox Way. The similarities between the two storied franchises are striking. Both teams went decades between championships, with the Cubs currently at 106 years without a World Series title.
Both teams were allegedly held back by curses, the Red Sox by the Curse of the Bambino in 1920 when their owner sold him to the New York Yankees to finance a play. The Cubs Billy Goat Curse came about when the team kicked out the goat a local bar owner brought to a World Series game in 1945 and he put a curse on them saying they would never play in the World Series again.
