CLEVELAND — Nine years ago, Wayne Krivsky got his first look at Didi Gregorius. Today, the former Reds general manager sees the same traits he did then.
“It was in the Instructional League after we signed him and he was young and agile, very athletic and a laid-back kid,’’ Krivsky said. “He had the tools, a little skinny but you could see by his actions he had room to grow. And he played with a little flare. He had energy and you could tell he loved to play.’’
Signed by the late Jeff Taylor out of a camp the Reds held in Curacao in August 2007, Gregorius reached the big leagues in 2012 and played eight games before being traded to the Diamondbacks in December of that season.
