PHILADELPHIA — CC Sabathia is convinced Dellin Betances will be an All-Star for the fifth straight season and it has nothing to do with the pitchers being very close friends.
Sabathia said Betances’ early-season problems should not deny Betances being part of the American League bullpen.
“He is one of the best [relievers] in the league, that is who he is,’’ Sabathia said when asked what he thought of Betances’ chances of being on manager A.J. Hinch’s staff. “We all struggle and he has had his ups and downs, but I think the talent is undeniable.
