ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. — It’s unclear when — or if — CC Sabathia will throw another pitch for the Yankees, but the last one he threw on Thursday was memorable.
The left-hander was ejected after he drilled Tampa Bay catcher Jesus Sucre with the first pitch of the bottom of the sixth with the Yankees leading 11-0, following a warning by home-plate umpire Vic Carapazza in the top of the inning, when Rays right-hander Andrew Kittredge threw a 93-mph fastball behind Austin Romine’s head with his first pitch of the inning.
After Romine glared at Kittredge, Sabathia took a few steps out of the Yankees dugout and seemed to say something to Kittredge.
