It took the Red Sox five games with the Yankees to finally get a win against their rivals, an 8-5 victory Sunday night in The Bronx.
But it was hardly easy, as the Yankees scored three times in the eighth and threatened again in the ninth.
For one night, though, the Yankees couldn’t overcome some uncharacteristic mistakes.
They were hurt by some slapstick base running and more horrendous defense from Clint Frazier in right, while David Price shook off his Yankees demons and was mostly overpowering.
