Right-hander Masahiro Tanaka will start for the Yankees in Tuesday night's American League Wild Card Game presented by Budweiser, manager Joe Girardi announced prior to Sunday's regular-season finale against the Orioles.
The Yankees entered Sunday having clinched one of the two AL Wild Card berths, but they did not know which team they would be facing on Tuesday. The Astros, Angels and Rangers remain as candidates to claim the other AL Wild Card spot.
