Tanaka timeline: One more rehab start, then back to Yanks?

Yankees ace Masahiro Tanaka will make his next rehab start Wednesday for Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre in Pawtucket after his first outing went well, according to manager Joe Girardi.

Tanaka, recovering from forearm soreness and wrist tendinitis and pitching with a partially torn elbow ligament, is slated to throw 65 pitches in his next start.

Girardi didn’t rule out the idea that if the right-hander doesn’t suffer any setbacks, his following outing could be with the Yankees.

“Is it a possibility? Of course it is,” Girardi said before Friday night’s series opener against the Rangers. “He says he feels good and his arm feels great.
