Yankees right-hander Masahiro Tanaka threw his first bullpen session on Tuesday since hitting the disabled list on April 29 with a strained right forearm and tendinitis in his right wrist, according to The Associated Press.
"Happy about it," Tanaka said through a translator. "Threw everything. Didn't feel anything."
According to the report, Tanaka threw 30 pitches before the Yankees' game against the Rays, but he does not have a timetable for a return. When Tanaka went on the DL, Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said he would miss at least a month.
The AP also reported that Ivan Nova threw 33 pitches, broken into three innings, during an extended spring outing with manager Joe Girardi and pitching coach Larry Rothschild in attendance.
