But not so. Try Friday night in The Bronx against the Rangers. Try 12-7 the other way.
Given their current circumstances, the Yankees could at least take the long view and focus on getting their best team on the field for the Oct. 3 wild-card game for which they seem destined.
They don’t have to rush players off the disabled list. They can be patient with players in slumps and can afford to do a little experimenting so that they are set up for the knockout round.
