In April, the Board of Directors of the NYS Broadcasters Association announced its inductees for this year’s Hall of Fame class, two of which were New York Yankees broadcast partners John Sterling and Suzyn Waldman. On Friday, Sterling and Waldman were inducted into the New York State Broadcasters Association Hall of Fame.
2016 marks the twelfth season the duo has shared broadcasting duties for the Yankees. Both rank high in length of tenure as radio broadcasters with New York. Sterling is second-longest behind Phil Rizzuto by three seasons (30 to 27), where Waldman currently ranks eighth, but will match Red Barber for seventh following their two-year contract with WFAN.
