It has been a busy week for the New York Yankees. Veteran second baseman Neil Walker was signed to a one-year contract, with outfielder Jake Cave being designated for assignment to make room on the 40-man roster. Prized prospect Gleyber Torres was optioned to Triple-A as he continues his comeback from Tommy John surgery on his non-throwing arm, and Adam Lind was released.
In other news, two more of the Yankees’ possible free agent targets have signed with other teams. Jake Arrieta inked a three-year deal with the Phillies, while Lance Lynn signed a one-year pact with the Twins.
